discovering great artwork through great music
This is a project for a concept I imagined one day when I spent a considerable amount of time trying to find out who the cover artist was for a newly released album I was listening to. Art Genie puts the digital artist centre stage and promotes them to the foreground - recognising them as a key member of the overall artistic vision of the musical artist.
In the same way that whosampled.com has allowed me to discover new music and new music musicians through the ones I already knew, Art Genius allows music and art aficionados to discover new graphic artists through the music they already love, and discover the story behind its artwork.
Discover Cover Art
Art genie allows you to search for any music album and discover the visual artist behind the cover art. Artists themselves can add their own work and use Art Genie as a platform to increase their exposure.
Uncover the story behind the Artwork
Art Genie allows you to find other album art work by the same artist. Uncover other music and artwork from one seed. Furthermore, the original artist has the opportunity to explain their creative process whilst working with the musician, share early sketches, concepts and ideas before the final product was realised.
Build a Following
Artists have the opportunity to build a profile and showcase their work. Music managers, musicians, fans and more can find and follow and hire their favourite artists and discover their other work whether music related or otherwise.
Website User Flow
This user flow demonstrates how a user can interact with the application. It shows how searching, submitting new album art entries, as well as viewing artist bios and associated content are achieved on the site.
